Ron and Michele Altman posted a condolence
Thursday, January 12, 2017
Rocky loved to go with us on vacations, but on several of those vacations, he could not go with us. Rocky was lucky to have loving and giving family members and friends who would look after him while we are gone and at times when he was not feeling well and needed to go outside more often and to be checked in on. We wanted to say a special thank you to Todd Wick, Laura Eggleston, Melissa and Randy Mazzola, Tilly Berghege, Robin Bradley and Holly Decker and Jake Decker along with his human sisters Jehan Altman, Maya Altman and Angie Altman for all that you did for Rocky and our other furbabies Maggie, Calypso and Fancy. Rocky, Ron and me love you all very much and are forever grateful.

Iwan Ronald Altman and Michele Altman posted a condolence
Thursday, January 12, 2017
Rocky Altman aka "Rockhead," "Rocky Boy," "Rocky Roo" was adopted from the Kenton County SPCA when he was 8 or 9 months old. We gave him the birthday of September 7th because he was always a dog who loved to be outside, hence a Virgo "Earth" dog. He was the only dog not barking in the pound. In fact, he rarely ever barked and Ron taught him not to pull on his leash, not to lick and not to jump on people. He loved to go to our local parks and chase deer, squirrels, turkeys, and rabbits. He never caught anything, but he always came running back with a huge doggy grin on his face. He was very scared of thunderstorms, fireworks and gunshots. He was very intuitive and would come to check on you if you were upset and often would be upset if you were upset and would try to comfort you and be comforted. He loved to eat, to lounge in the sun, or on the couch with you, and to go for rides in the car or truck. He never knew a stranger and used to "help" Ron when he sold things at the local flea market. He was gentle with children and loved his human sisters Angie, Jehan and Maya as well as his human nephews Jayden and Gavin. Rocky accepted me as his mom 10 years ago along with his sister and best friend Maggie Moo and his two kitty siblings Calypso and Fancy without complaint and with tolerance and love as long as he got his fair share of love and treats. He was handsome, funny, stubborn, and was one of the sweetest dogs we have ever known. Rocky was euthanized on January 3, 2017 at the age of 14 due to cancer and severe arthritis because he had lost his quality of life and happiness and was in pain. We are forever grateful to have had his beautiful soul as a part of our family and lives. We have so many wonderful memories of Rocky. We are happy that he is not suffering any longer, but losing Rocky has left a huge hole in our family and our hearts and we will miss him always. May you have peace and know we love you forever Rocky Boy!
